"The rejoin lead is driven almost entirely by those who couldn’t vote in 2016."
That is the important conclusion of the latest polling research on rejoining the EU.
Rejoin support continues to steadily rise as we all feel the effects of Brexit - and in particular as young people, far more likely to support EU membership, turn 18 and get the right to vote.
That's why it is vital to keep our movement on the streets, breaking out of the staid Westminster consensus. The National Rejoin March coalition has announced the date for the next Day for Rejoin: 23 March.
This takes the action beyond London to events in every region, and even in other European countries. Find out more here:
Defend the right to protest
This week home secretary Suella Braverman tried to overrule the police in order to ban a march for a ceasefire in Gaza that happens to fall on Armistice Day. This is dangerous for all protest movements.
Peter Corr, an army veteran and leader of the National Rejoin March, puts it well in a video here when he says: "The people who died for us died for our freedoms and our freedom of speech, very much including protesting to keep our government in check."
For us at Stay European, as a Rejoin campaign we are heavily relying on the right to protest as a cornerstone of democracy – a right that the government has been trying to erode for years now. We must defend protest marches against attempted government crackdowns.

Ukraine to join the EU: what a good idea!
Ukraine has moved a step closer to joining the EU as the European Commission has confirmed plans to open negotiations – an important show of support as the country faces continued Russian bombing.
This is part of the next round of EU enlargement that may also include Moldova, the six Balkan states and Georgia.
It confirms once again that the EU is the place to be. "This is a strong and historic step that paves the way to a stronger EU with Ukraine as its member," said president Zelensky. We hope the UK will soon follow Ukraine's lead.
